DReed3There are still spots left on my Vermont Crossroads workshop that I am doing in June in my home area in southern Vermont. This year we will have two non-profit partners- the Vermont Land Trust and the Dorset Equine Rescue.

We are photographing a brand new property for the Land Trust this year- the Merck Forest, a 3000+ acre working forest that is an important ecological link in the Taconic Mountains. The Land Trust has no images from the Merck so the workshop will be providing essential imagery to support the vital work of the Trust. Last year the images we gave the Land Trust were immediately used and are still being used- I have received two very heartfelt massages this year from them expressing their thanks and appreciation.

The impact of last year’s images shot during the workshop were immediate for the Dorset Equine Rescue. Their entire website was redesigned and almost every picture on it was from the workshop! The Rescue has subsequently had a noticeable surge of interest and local support. This was a case of a non-profit doing great, important work that just didn’t have time to get the images they need.

You want to make an impact with your photography? You want to have a sense of purpose? Contribute to the greater good? Feel good about your photography? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!? Get going and contribute!
